This is Thirukkalvanur, where Vishnu stands as Adivaraha, the great boar who once lifted the earth from the ocean. The goddess Mahalakshmi is shown in a worshipping posture, facing the lord, which is unusual. The poet Thirumangai Azhwar sang a single hymn about this place. For such a small shrine with such a modest story, the temple has a quiet pull. It is a small shrine in a very busy place, and well worth a quiet moment on the way to or from the goddess's temple.
அன்னையின் கோயிலில் நிற்கும் வராகர்

It is one of the 14 Divya Desams in Kanchipuram, and it is situated beside the shrine of Kamakshi Amman. Thirumangai Azhwar sang one mangalasasanam, or hymn of praise, in this temple.
