Printing Help & Label Setup
All MakeKite templates, worksheets, planners, and label generators are calibrated for desktop sheet printers (A4 and US Letter) and dedicated thermal roll printers.
Printing on Standard Paper & Planners
- Use actual size (100% scale): In your browser print dialog, set Scale to 100% or Actual Size and turn off Fit to Page so line spacings and grids remain exact.
- Colours missing? In Chrome, Edge, or Safari, tick Background graphics in the print window so pastel headers and label colours appear.
- Ink-saving black & white mode: Tick the Black and white logo box on the page to conserve color cartridge ink.
- Landscape pages: Planners, habit trackers, and timesheets switch to landscape orientation automatically. If your printer does not, select Landscape in your print dialog.
- Save as PDF: Select Save as PDF as your destination printer to archive clean digital files.
Printing Pre-Cut Label Sheets (Avery, Staples, Walmart, Officeworks, Amazon)
MakeKite label generators include pre-calibrated templates matching commercial die-cut adhesive sheets available at major retailers worldwide:
- Avery L7160 / 5160 (63.5 × 38.1 mm): Standard address, spice jars, and small food containers.
- Avery L7163 / 5162 (99.1 × 38.1 mm): Medium pantry jars, office file folders, and storage bins.
- Avery L7165 / 5163 (99.1 × 67.7 mm): Storage tubs, workshop bins, parcel shipping, and moving boxes.
- Avery L7169 / 5164 (139 × 99.1 mm): Extra large moving boxes, heavy-duty warehouse crates, and garage totes.
- Avery L7651 / 5167 (38.1 × 21.2 mm): Mini spice bottle lids, return address, and compact drawer labels.
- Avery 22807 / Square (50.8 × 50.8 mm): Square preserving jars, jam lids, and candle tins.
- Important sheet printer tip: Always print a single test sheet on plain paper first. Hold the plain paper against your pre-cut sticker sheet up to a light to verify that text aligns within the die-cut borders before feeding sticky sheets.
Printing on Thermal Label Roll Printers (Zebra, Rollo, Munbyn, Dymo, Brother)
If you use a desktop thermal label printer or portable Bluetooth mini-printer:
- Select your matching Roll template:
- 100 × 150 mm (4" × 6"): Standard shipping and large moving boxes (Zebra, Rollo, Munbyn, Dymo 4XL).
- 76 × 50 mm (3" × 2"): Storage bins, inventory, and pantry rolls (Zebra, Rollo, Munbyn).
- 89 × 28 mm (1⅛" × 3½"): Standard address roll (Dymo LabelWriter 30252, Brother DK-11201).
- 62 × 29 mm: Barcode & small bin labels (Brother QL series / DK-11209).
- 50 × 30 mm: Portable Bluetooth pocket printers (Phomemo, Nelko, Niimbot D11/B21).
- Printer Type: Choose Roll printer in the dropdown. This automatically removes page header logos and triggers an individual page-break after each label so your thermal printer advances one label per feed without wasting blanks.
- Margins: In the print dialog, select your thermal printer and set Margins to None or Minimum.
