About this classroom tool
Seating plans help classes settle and give relief teachers a quick way to learn names. Shuffling gives a fresh start each term, and swapping desks lets you adjust for students who need to sit near the front or apart from each other. The plan prints with the class name and the front of the room, and empty desks show as dashed outlines.
Tips
- Seat students who need to see the board well in the front row by swapping after shuffling.
- Change the plan each term so students work with new people.
- Leave empty desks where there are gaps in your room.
- Keep a printed copy for relief teachers.
Common questions
What if there are more students than desks?
The page warns you and asks you to add rows or desks, so nobody is left off the plan.
Can I save the plan?
Print it, or save it as a PDF from the print window. The list of names is remembered on this device.
