Using this page
Find a percentage of an amount, such as 25% of 80 or 35% of 240. The easier level uses 10%, 20%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%; the harder level adds amounts like 15%, 35%, 12.5% and 150%. The Common Core's Grade 6 standard includes finding a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100. Every answer is a whole number. Suits around Year 7 in Australia and Grade 6 in the US (Common Core 6.RP.A.3), but use whatever level fits the child.
Tips
- Show the working, even when the answer seems obvious; it makes mistakes easy to spot.
- Check each answer: put it back into an equation, or estimate before working out.
- Start with the easier setting and move up once most answers are right.
- Mix one older sheet into each week so earlier skills stay fresh.
Worked example
35% of 240. Find 10%: 240 ÷ 10 = 24. So 30% is 72, and 5% is half of 10%, which is 12. 72 + 12 = 84. Or work it out directly: 240 × 35 ÷ 100 = 84.
Common mistakes
Dividing by the percentage, so 25% of 80 becomes 80 ÷ 25.
Finding 10% correctly but adding the wrong number of tens.

Common questions
Why learn 10% first?
10% is just dividing by 10, and most other percentages can be built from it: 5% is half, 20% is double, 15% is 10% plus 5%.
Can I make the sheet harder?
Yes. Use the options above the sheet: more digits, a harder level, brackets or negative numbers where they are offered.
Can I print the same worksheet again?
Yes. Note the worksheet number printed at the top, or keep the link in your browser's address bar, which ends with that number. Entering it later gives the same questions and answers.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, and nothing you choose is sent anywhere: the sheets are made in your browser.
