How to play
Read the word (or riddle) carefully, sounding it out if you need to. Then tap the picture it describes. The hard level gives a clue sentence instead of the name.

What it teaches
Matching printed words to pictures checks that children are reading for meaning, not just decoding sounds. Riddles on the hard level practise inference – using clues to work out an answer – which grows into comprehension from Year 1.
