⚗️ Element Symbols Memory
A memory game pairing chemical symbols with element names – from H and O to tricky ones like Fe, Pb and Au.
How to play
Turn over two cards. If one is an element and the other is its symbol, they stay face up. Many symbols come from Latin names – Fe from ferrum (iron), Au from aurum (gold) – which is why they do not match the English name.
⌨️ Keyboard: Tab between cards and press Enter or Space to turn one over.
What it teaches
Year 8 and 9 Science introduce elements, compounds and the periodic table. Knowing common symbols by heart makes reading chemical formulas such as H₂O and NaCl much easier.
