⚡ Conductor or Insulator?
Sort materials by whether electricity can flow through them easily (conductors) or not (insulators).
How to play
Metals are conductors: electricity flows through them easily. Most non-metals, such as plastic, rubber, wood and glass, are insulators. Graphite (pencil lead) and salty water are non-metal conductors. Tap or drag each material into a box.
⌨️ Keyboard: press the number on a box to sort the card into it.
What it teaches
Year 6 Science explores electrical circuits and how energy flows through conductors. Knowing insulators explains everyday safety, such as plastic coating on cables and rubber soles on electricians' boots.
