Count on from the start time: first to the next o'clock, then whole hours, then the leftover minutes. Add the pieces together and pick the matching duration.

What it teaches
Calculating elapsed time is part of measurement from Year 3, and interpreting timetables comes in Year 6. Counting on in jumps is the same strategy students use for change and subtraction.
