Connect each pair of words with its contraction – do not and don't, I am and I'm, will not and won't.
How to play
Tap the two words on the left, then the contraction on the right that means the same. The apostrophe shows where letters have been left out – in don't, it replaces the o in not.
⌨️ Keyboard: Tab between cards and press Enter or Space to turn one over.
What it teaches
Using apostrophes for contractions is taught from Year 2 and is a common error in writing. Matching full forms to short forms shows exactly which letters the apostrophe stands for (and why won't is the odd one out).
