🔐 Code Breaker

Crack a secret colour code using clues after each guess: right colour in the right place, or right colour in the wrong place.

How to play

Choose colours to make a guess and press Check. A dark dot means one colour is correct and in the right place; a white dot means a colour is in the code but in a different place. The dots do not tell you which colour they refer to – use logic to work it out.

⌨️ Keyboard: number keys choose colours, Backspace removes one, Enter checks.

What it teaches

Code breaking is all about deduction: each clue removes possibilities, and good players choose guesses that test ideas. It develops hypothesis testing and logical reasoning used in Science and Mathematics.

Levels: Easy (3 colours from 4, no repeats) · Medium (4 colours from 6, no repeats) · Hard (4 from 6, repeats allowed)

Free to play, with no sign-up and no ads beside the game. Best scores are saved only in this browser. All artwork and sounds are made in code by makekite.
