Hand Lettering Practice Sheet
Brush and hand lettering guides with a shaded x-height band and optional slant lines. Sizes for brush pens and markers.
What it's for
Big guidelines make it easier to practise thick downstrokes and thin upstrokes with brush pens. The shaded band marks the x-height, and slant lines help keep letters at a steady angle.
Which size to choose
Use A4 or US Letter with small brush pens. Choose a 15–20 mm x-height on A3 for large markers.
Printing tips
- Pick the paper size above first. The print dialog should then show the same size; if it doesn't, choose it there too.
- Set Scale to 100% or Actual size (not "Fit to page") so measurements stay true. Margins are already built into the sheet.
- Turn off "Headers and footers" in the print dialog for a clean edge.
- Choose Grey to save ink, or Black if you will photocopy the page.
