🏙️ Capital City Finder

Find Australia's eight capital cities – Canberra plus each state and territory capital – on a map of Australia.

How to play

Each red dot is a capital city. Read the city's name, think about which state or territory it is the capital of, and tap its dot. Darwin is in the far north, and Hobart is on an island.

⌨️ Keyboard: ← and → move the highlight around the map, Enter chooses.

What it teaches

Learning the capital cities connects to Year 3 work on states and territories and to Year 6 Civics on Australia's system of government. Most Australians live in or near a capital city on the coast.
