📍 Map Grid Hunt

Use grid references like B3 to find things on a picture map – and say which square things are in.

How to play

A grid reference gives the letter across the bottom first, then the number up the side. So B3 means: go along to column B, then up to row 3. Answer the question by reading or using the reference.

⌨️ Keyboard: press 1–4 to pick an answer, or type your answer and press Enter.

What it teaches

Grid references and simple maps are a Year 3 Mathematics and Geography skill, leading to the alphanumeric grids on street directories and the coordinates students learn in Year 6.

Levels: 4 × 4 (Small map) · 5 × 5 (More things) · 6 × 6 (Busy map)
