In English

'The child in your hand is a refuge for you alone': out of our fear, we bring that old saying to life again. Our Lord, we will tell you one thing. Listen. May we never join with anyone who is not your devotee. May our hands do no work for anyone but you. May our eyes, night and day, see nothing else. Our Lord, if you grant us only this, it will not matter to us where the sun may rise.

About this verse

This is a prayer of complete devotion: may our hands, eyes and company be for the Lord alone. The last line says that, once that is granted, nothing else, not even where the sun rises, will matter to them.
