A short summary in Tamil and in plain English, one part for each line of the verse, written for this page.
In English
O rain, draw in the ocean and rise up, shine like the Lady who rules us, flash like her slender waist, glow with lightning over our Lady's holy feet, ring like the golden anklet on her feet, and curve like her bow-shaped brows. She is the Lady who rules over us, inseparable from our Lord, and she comes to his devotees and pours out her sweet grace before them. In the same way, pour down.
About this verse
Like verse 4 of the Thiruppavai, this verse speaks to the rain. Here the cloud is told to rise from the sea and pour down as the grace of the Goddess does, with the lightning and rainbow as her waist and brows.
