In English

With green water lilies and their dark flowers, with the fresh buds of red lotus, with the flocks of birds and their calls, and with those who come to wash away their faults, the pond seems to be at one with our Lady and our Lord. We leap and leap again into the overflowing pool, as our bangles and anklets ring together, and the water surges up around us as we dive. Let us leap into the lotus-flowering water and bathe.

About this verse

The pond itself is the subject here: green lilies, red lotus, birds and bathers. The poet suggests that the whole pond, being so full of beauty, is a picture of the Lord and the Lady together.
