A short summary in Tamil and in plain English, one part for each line of the verse, written for this page.
In English
So that the sorrow of birth that binds us may end, we splash and play in the water. The Holy One who dances with fire in the small hall at Thillai, the Dancer who is the sky and the earth and everything, plays by protecting, by creating and by hiding. We talk, our bangles jingle and our garments rustle, and the bees hum around the flowers in our hair. We dive into the flowering pond and praise the golden feet of our Lord, and bathe in the great spring water.
About this verse
Here the bathing is shown as a way to remember the Lord. The girls play in the water while praising him as the Dancer of Thillai, who creates, protects and hides the whole world as if in play.
