In English

Lord of the rain, hold nothing back from us. Go into the ocean, draw up its water, and rise up with a roar. Darken your body like the form of the Lord who is the beginning of the ages. Flash like the discus in the hand of the strong-shouldered Padmanabha. Thunder like his conch. Pour down swiftly, like the shower of arrows from his bow. Rain on the world so that it may live. And we too will bathe in Margazhi and rejoice.

About this verse

Here the girls speak to the rain itself, and compare the dark cloud, its lightning and its thunder to the Lord's discus, conch and bow.
