In English

We come very early at dawn to worship you, and to praise your golden lotus feet. Listen to our reason. You were born in a clan that herds cattle, so you cannot leave without accepting our small services. Govinda, we have not come only for today's gift. For all time, for seven times seven births, may we be your own, and may we serve you alone. And change all our other desires.

About this verse

This is often called the heart of the Thiruppavai. The girls say that the gift of the vow is not what they truly want. They ask to belong to the Lord in every birth, and to serve him only.
