In English
We follow the cows into the forest, and eat there. We are of the simple cowherd clan, who know nothing, yet we have the great good fortune of having you born among us. Govinda, in whom nothing is lacking, our bond with you here cannot be broken, however much it is tried. We are innocent children, and out of love we may have called you by little pet names. Do not be angry. Lord, please give us the gift of the vow.
About this verse
This verse is a heartfelt, humble speech. The girls say that they are simple herding folk, that their bond with Krishna can never be cut, and that any pet names they used came only from love.
