மாலே, மணிவண்ணா, மார்கழி நீராடுவதற்காக, முன்னோர் செய்துவந்த செயல்களுக்கு வேண்டியவற்றை நீ கேட்டால், உலகம் எல்லாம் நடுங்கும்படி முழங்கும், பால் போன்ற வெண்ணிறமுடைய உன் பாஞ்சசன்யம் போன்ற சங்குகள் வேண்டும். மிகப் பெரிய பறைகள் வேண்டும், பல்லாண்டு பாடுபவர்கள் வேண்டும். அழகிய விளக்குகள், கொடி, விதானம் ஆகியவை வேண்டும். ஆலிலையில் துயின்றவனே, இவற்றை அருள்வாய்.
In English
Lord, jewel-coloured one, for our bath in Margazhi, if you ask what we need, in the way our elders did, we ask for conches that sound so loud the world trembles, like your milk-white Panchajanya. We ask for very large drums, and singers of the 'Pallandu' blessing. We ask for beautiful lamps, a banner and a canopy. O Lord who rested on a banyan leaf, please grant us these.
