A short summary in Tamil and in plain English, one part for each line of the verse, written for this page.
In English
The lamp is burning, and you lie on a bed with ivory legs, on a soft couch of cotton. You rest beside Nappinnai, whose hair is full of flower clusters. Lord with the flowered chest, open your mouth and speak. Nappinnai, with your large, dark-lined eyes, you will not let your beloved wake even for a moment. You cannot bear to be parted from him even briefly. This is not right. Please be kind to us.
About this verse
Here the girls speak to both Krishna and Nappinnai. They gently complain that the two will not part for a moment, and ask them to be kind and open the door.
