In English

Aruna, the charioteer of the sun, has reached the eastern quarter, and the darkness has gone. Daybreak has opened on your flower-like holy face. As the sun of your mercy rises higher and higher, the fragrant flowers of your eyes open. Swarms of bees in rows are humming. Shiva, who lives at Thiruperunthurai, mountain of bliss who comes to give the treasure of grace, ocean of waves, please rise from your bed.

About this verse

Here the dawn is described through the Lord himself: the rising sun is the sun of his mercy, and his opening eyes are the flowers that open at daybreak.
