Semi-Log Graph Paper
Semi-logarithmic graph paper with 1 to 5 log cycles on the vertical axis and a linear horizontal axis.
What it's for
Semi-log paper turns exponential growth or decay into a straight line, which makes it useful for population growth, bacteria counts, radioactive decay and finance. Each cycle covers a factor of ten.
Which size to choose
Choose the number of cycles to cover your data range: three cycles span 1 to 1000. Landscape suits time on the x-axis.
Printing tips
- Pick the paper size above first. The print dialog should then show the same size; if it doesn't, choose it there too.
- Set Scale to 100% or Actual size (not "Fit to page") so measurements stay true. Margins are already built into the sheet.
- Turn off "Headers and footers" in the print dialog for a clean edge.
- Choose Grey to save ink, or Black if you will photocopy the page.
