🗂️ Place Value Sorter

Sort the underlined digit into the right place-value box: ones, tens, hundreds or thousands.

How to play

A number appears with one digit underlined. Tap (or drag the card into) the box that names its place. Count from the right: ones, tens, hundreds, thousands.

⌨️ Keyboard: press the number on a box to sort the card into it.

What it teaches

Naming the place of a digit, and knowing what it is worth, is assessed throughout Years 2 to 4. This game separates the idea of place (tens) from value (40), which is where many mistakes start.

Levels: Tens & ones (Two-digit numbers) · Up to hundreds (Three-digit numbers) · Up to thousands (Four-digit numbers)
