Annual leave accrual calculator
Estimate paid annual leave accrued under the National Employment Standards.
Full-time and part-time employees get 4 weeks a year under the NES, and some shift workers get 5. Casuals don't accrue paid annual leave. Your award or agreement may differ.
How this calculator works
Annual leave accrues progressively: hours accrued = ordinary hours worked × weeks of entitlement ÷ 52. For 4 weeks that's about 0.0769 hours per hour worked.
Worked example: 38 hours a week for 26 weeks is 988 ordinary hours, which accrues 76 hours. That's exactly two weeks of leave.
