How to print labels on standard sheets and roll printers
Whether using standard desktop printers (inkjet or laser) with pre-cut label sheets from Avery, Staples, Walmart, Amazon Basics, or Officeworks, or a continuous thermal roll printer (Zebra, Rollo, Munbyn, Dymo, Brother), getting the sizing right is simple when you know the two key settings.
For sheet labels on A4 or US Letter: print a test page on plain paper first and hold it against your label sheet to confirm alignment. In your printer dialog, ensure Scale is set to 100% or Actual Size and turn off 'Fit to Page', which otherwise shrinks labels by 4-5% and causes borders to drift. If using background colours, tick 'Background graphics' in Chrome or Edge.
For thermal label roll printers (such as Zebra 4x6, Dymo 30252, Brother DK, or Rollo/Munbyn): select the matching Roll template and switch the Printer Type to 'Roll printer'. This formats every label to trigger an individual page break without header logos. In your print dialog, select your thermal printer and set Margins to 'None' or 'Minimum' for a continuous, waste-free feed.
