How to organise a profitable weekend garage sale
A garage sale is an ideal way to clear household clutter and earn extra cash, but success depends on preparation. Check local council regulations beforehand regarding directional street signage and permissible sale hours.
Price every item clearly before the morning rush. Early-bird bargain hunters will arrive right on your advertised start time. Group items by price tables (e.g. '$2 table', '$5 table') or use colour-coded sticky dots to avoid having to answer pricing questions constantly.
Prepare a cash float with at least $50 in small $5 notes and $1 and $2 coins, and consider displaying a printed PayID or QR code for instant bank transfers. Keep your cash float on your person in an apron rather than on an unattended table.
