Prime factorisation calculator
Check whether a number is prime and break it into prime factors.
How this calculator works
Trial division: divide by 2, then by odd numbers up to √n, recording each factor. If one remains at the end, it's prime too. The number of divisors is the product of (each exponent + 1).
Worked example: 360 = 2³ × 3² × 5, so it has (3+1)(2+1)(1+1) = 24 divisors.
