Shop help and FAQ

Everything about buying from the LifePlanLabs shop: how you pay, what you receive, which programs work, how dates and rates are handled, and what the licence allows.

How do I buy?

Choose a product, then press Buy on Etsy. You pay on Etsy, which handles the payment securely. Your files are available to download straight away from your Etsy purchases page.

Why Etsy?

Etsy looks after payments, receipts and downloads, so makekite.com never sees your card details. The shop is LifePlanLabs on Etsy.

What do I get after I buy?

Spreadsheets come as an Excel file (Example and Blank) plus a link that makes your own copy in Google Sheets. Printables come as PDFs in A4 and US Letter. Each product page lists exactly what is included.

Which spreadsheet programs work?

Our spreadsheets are built as Excel (.xlsx) files with no macros. We check them in Excel format, LibreOffice and Google Sheets. We have not tested Apple Numbers, so we do not promise it works there.

How do I use the Google Sheets version?

Open the link, then choose File, Make a copy. The copy is saved in your own Google Drive and is yours to edit. Set File, Settings, Locale to your country so dates and currency show in your style.

Are the dates right for my country?

Date cells show in your computer's own date style. Our Australian products use the Australian financial year (1 July to 30 June) and Australian rules, and say so on the page.

Do I need to update them?

The government figures in our finance spreadsheets sit on a Rates sheet with their source and date. Update them when the rules change (most change each July) and the whole workbook follows.

Can I get a refund?

Because these are digital downloads, we usually cannot accept returns. If a file does not open or is not as described, message us through Etsy and we will fix it.

Can I share the files or use them at work?

They are for your personal use. Please do not resell, share or upload them. Contact us through Etsy if you need a licence for a business or a group.

Is anything here financial advice?

No. Our finance spreadsheets are general information and planning tools. They do not consider your objectives, situation or needs. LifePlanLabs is not a financial adviser. Speak to a licensed adviser before you make financial decisions.

Were these made with AI?

They were designed by LifePlanLabs and created with the help of AI tools, then checked against independent calculations and official sources. Every listing on Etsy says this too.

How do I ask a question?

Message LifePlanLabs through Etsy. For anything about the free tools on makekite.com, use the contact page.

Using the Google Sheets copy

  1. Open the Google Sheets link from your download. It opens a page that asks you to make a copy.
  2. Choose Make a copy. The copy is saved in your own Google Drive.
  3. Choose File, Settings, Locale and pick your country so dates and currency show in your style.
  4. Type in the yellow cells only. The rest is worked out by formulas.

Updating the rates

Each finance spreadsheet has a Rates sheet that lists every government figure with its source and the date it was read. When a rule changes, type the new figure into the yellow cell and every sheet follows. Most Australian rates change each July, and Age Pension rates change each March and September.

Not financial advice

The finance spreadsheets are general information and planning tools. They do not consider your objectives, situation or needs, and projections are not predictions. LifePlanLabs is not a financial adviser. Speak to a licensed adviser before you act.
