Ireland take-home pay calculator

Income tax, USC and PRSI taken out of an Irish salary for a single person, using Revenue's 2026 rates, with pay per month and week.

An estimate for a single person with no qualifying child, with the personal and employee (PAYE) tax credits. It leaves out pension contributions, other credits and reliefs, reduced USC rates, and the way PRSI is worked out week by week. PRSI uses the rate from 1 October 2026 (it was 4.2% earlier in 2026). Check Revenue for current figures.

How this calculator works

Income tax is 20% on the first €44,000 and 40% above it. Tax credits are then taken off the tax: a personal credit of €2,000 and an employee credit of €2,000. USC is 0.5% on the first €12,012, 2% up to €28,700, 3% up to €70,044 and 8% above that, and it is not charged on total income of €13,000 or less. Employee PRSI is 4.35% of earnings (from 1 October 2026), with nothing charged on weekly earnings of €352 or less.

Worked example: on €50,000, tax is 20% × €44,000 + 40% × €6,000 = €11,200, less €4,000 of credits = €7,200. USC is €1,032.82 and PRSI is €2,175. Take-home pay is €39,592.18 a year, or about €3,299 a month.
