🔁 Pattern Detective
Work out what comes next in repeating patterns of colours and shapes, then growing number patterns.
How to play
Look for the part that repeats (the “core”) – for example red, blue, red, blue. Once you spot it, continue the pattern to find the missing item. Number patterns on the hard level go up or down by the same amount, or multiply each time.
⌨️ Keyboard: press 1–4 to pick an answer, or type your answer and press Enter.
What it teaches
Recognising and continuing repeating patterns is a Foundation and Year 1 skill, and describing number patterns with rules continues to Year 6. Patterns are the foundation of algebraic thinking.
Levels: Repeating (AB and ABC patterns) · Trickier (AAB, ABB, AABB) · Numbers (Growing patterns)
