Pay rise calculator
Your new salary after a percentage rise, and whether it beats inflation.
Figures are before tax.
How this calculator works
Real change = (1 + rise) ÷ (1 + inflation) − 1. That's more accurate than just subtracting one percentage from the other.
Worked example: a 4% rise on $85,000 gives $88,400, which is $3,400 more a year or about $131 a fortnight before tax. With inflation at 3%, your real purchasing power rises by only 0.97%.
